Mountain Resorts - Switzerland
Gstaad
I believe that after spending some time on our website, you realized that we love Switzerland! But even though Switzerland is not so big, it’s still very different, so everyone can find their own happy place here to come back and bring everyone to show the beauty and the energy of this place. Sounds like I know what I am talking about? It's because I’m happy to say I found THIS place in Switzerland. For me it’s Gstaad.

  • Question:
    What is Gstaad?
    Answer:
It's a small and very charming Alpine village, which attracts thousands of visitors every winter, and what is more, even summer. But why? You will not have an answer to this until you don't come here yourself, but you will definitely get a better perception of how to fall in love with Gstaad. When I came here for the first time, my fiance (who loves Gstaad and knows it since he was born) took me by the hand to all the iconic places of this resort, and since then he has been showing me all the new and hard-to-reach without prior reservation places. Now it's time I share my knowledge with you.
  • Question:
    How to get to Gstaad?
    Answer:
Since Gstaad is located in the middle of Bernese Alps. You can get here

    By train:
    3h from Geneva via Montreux - take historic train or the panoramic one (seats in the front for the best view);
3h from Zurich with 2 stops in Bern and Zweisimmen.

    By car:
    2h from Geneva / 1,5h from Bern / 2,5h from Zurich

    By plane:
Private jet, to be more precise - PC-12, bigger jets can't land in Saanen Airport's runway is very miniature.

Come up, Slow down
The altitude of Gstaad is one of the key points why people have LOVE / HATE relationship with Gstaad. Located at 1’000m Gstaad guarantees you perfect deep sleep till noon.
What a perfect day in Gstaad looks like in winter:

You wake up after a long sleep, as here everyone sleeps like a baby and locals are sure it’s not only because of the fresh mountain air, but also because of the unique altitude of Gstaad, which is 1000m above sea level - the perfect altitude for the deep sleep.

You have breakfast served with dairies from local Molkerei, freshly baked pastries and of course Gstaader Cheese. If you’re lucky to have your breakfast in The Alpina Hotel, add some honey to your yogurt or cheese, it’s been carefully prepared for you by hotel’s resident bees.

Around 11:00, you head to the slopes without hurry, in line with Gstaad's "Come Up, Slow Down" spirit. The snow-dusted peaks and serene valleys surround you as you ski, feeling connected to the stunning alpine landscape.

At midday, you pause at a rustic mountain hut to enjoy a warming fondue or raclette while taking in breathtaking views. After a few more runs, you return to the village for some après-ski, savoring a mulled wine or hot chocolate as the sun sets over the peaks.

As evening falls, you make your way into town, where a cozy restaurant awaits. There, you dine on regional specialties or even Michelin-worthy dishes, surrounded by the warmth of candlelight and the soft murmur of the village at night. You end the day refreshed, feeling grateful for the peaceful luxury of your alpine retreat.
